Crown Prince Haakon and Princess Mette-Marit of Norway Check Out Bollywood

It was a scene straight out of a movie. The royal couple arrives; the waiting cameras go into a frenzied tizzy; journalists throw questions, diplomatic answers are given and the royal couple along with their entourage is swept away before you can blink an eye. And that’s exactly what happened last evening at the Taj Mahal Hotel.

Arriving a good 30 minutes after schedule, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haakon and Princess Mette-Marit of Norway looked every bit the royal couple as they posed for photographs against the Gateway of India with a crimson sky for company. The royal couple is currently on its first official visit to India.

Bollywood Booming - Stars Have No Time To Make All Of the Films

Filmmakers are facing a severe crisis now as actors simply don't have enough dates to take on projects. With industry giants and established studios throwing their weight around to get star dates at will, the situation is exasperating for new entrants. Corporates and debutant directors have big funds and great scripts in hand, but there aren't any stars who have the time.

And this is not just a phenomenon restricted to Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai. Even if you want to cast Ritesh Deshmukh in your next film, you'd better wait around till this time next year and get an early 2008 booking.

Don - This Years Most Awaited Bollywood Remake

Reuters:

Bollywood_don A slick remake of a Bollywood classic about murky crime syndicates has been panned by critics but audiences have lapped up the chance to compare a reigning star with a legendary actor in their portrayals of the lead role.

"Don" was this year's most awaited Bollywood remake because it pitched Shah Rukh Khan, whom Time magazine called -- in terms of recognition -- the world's biggest movie star, against Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan, named the best actor of the millennium in a BBC online poll.

For years, the debate over which of the two is a better actor has engaged Bollywood, and "Don" offered the perfect opportunity to compare their skills, with Khan taking the role of the gangster first portrayed by Bachchan nearly three decades ago.

The film was released to a rousing opening last week but the jury is still out.
