And that’s exactly what happened last evening at the Taj Mahal Hotel.

Arriving a good 30 minutes after schedule, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haakon and Princess Mette-Marit of Norway looked every bit the royal couple as they posed for photographs against the Gateway of India with a crimson sky for company. The royal couple is currently on its first official visit to India.

The Indian government is to launch an intensive campaign to promote Bollywood movies in Japan, in concert with the Japan-India Friendship Year program scheduled for 2007, in an attempt to attract more tourists from Japan.

Miss Universe thinks that Salman Khan is Hot

The reigning Miss Universe finds India's Bollywood star Salman Khan "hot" and thinks he has "an amazing body," a news report said Monday.

Zuleyka Rivera, a Puerto Rican, met the Indian star who gave her a ride on his motorbike in Mumbai, India's financial and entertainment capital, the Times Of India newspaper reported.

"Yeah, I met Salman Khan," the report quoted her as saying. "Well, he is hot for sure."

"He has an amazing body and a great sense of humor," said Rivera, who visited India to promote an AIDS awareness campaign.

Bollywood Superstar Amitabh Bachchan Records 2 New Songs for Film

Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan's fans will soon get to enjoy two songs that the superstar has recorded for an upcoming Hindi film, a newspaper said Friday.

Aadesh Shrivastava, who composed the music for the film "Babul," or "Father," said work on both songs was complete and the film's music would be released soon, the Asian Age newspaper reported.

Bachchan "doesn't sing for any other composer these days. But he'd never say no to me," Shrivastava was quoted as saying.

Don - This Years Most Awaited Bollywood Remake

A slick remake of a Bollywood classic about murky crime syndicates has been panned by critics but audiences have lapped up the chance to compare a reigning star with a legendary actor in their portrayals of the lead role.

"Don" was this year's most awaited Bollywood remake because it pitched Shah Rukh Khan, whom Time magazine called -- in terms of recognition -- the world's biggest movie star, against Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan, named the best actor of the millennium in a BBC online poll.

For years, the debate over which of the two is a better actor has engaged Bollywood, and "Don" offered the perfect opportunity to compare their skills, with Khan taking the role of the gangster first portrayed by Bachchan nearly three decades ago.

  The film was released to a rousing opening last week but the jury is still out.

It's the hush-hush deal that's become the talk of Bollywood. In a mega sign-up, bigger than any Diwali phataka , Hrithik Roshan has inked a three-film contract with the Anil Ambani-owned Adlabs for Rs 12 crore per film.

This straightaway catapults Hrithik to the top of super-hero league, making him the highest paid star in India, way ahead of the three Khans, who charge anything between Rs 5 crore and Rs 8 crore a film, and Amitabh Bachchan, who hovers at a more modest figure.
